I did. All 3 were in big law, 2 at the same firm, all working for the same partner/group. By the time I had the third I wanted out of big law. Been in small law for 2 years now. It's a pay adjustment for sure, but so great for my motherhood.
I know a senior associate who did it! She was very much liked and they wanted her to stay at any cost. She ended up negotiating 10 months of leave for herself for the third!
Did she make partner? Was she threatening to quit before she got the extended mat leave?
you shouldn’t second guess this for a second. if there’s not a policy against it then you can do it (e.g. if you need to have a certain amount of time between them). your value is extracted substantially by working there, you can get your benefits as well.

Agree. When it comes to leave, just do what is best for you and your family, and be pleasant, confident, and matter-of-fact about it.
I did it! I spread this across two firms. Having kids gives you so many more touch points for potential clients should you want to be partner as well. It was a blessing to be able to have the time with them, no one said a peep (not to my face anyways).
