If you are consultant, then it is easy. We adjust with our short or long term customer or client culture. Just adjust with your family’s culture and just respect them just like u are respecting ur client or customer or vendor.
I’m a Christian and also believe in science and all people having all the rights. I had a period of doubt but I leaned into it and wasn’t afraid to question. That said, I think most organized religion is problematic. I just focus on trying to have a relationship with God 💁🏻♀️
EY 4: What it comes down to is if you believe in absolute truth or relative truth. If you talked to a devout Muslim, Christian, Jew, etc they would say that they are right and the rest are wrong. This is valid reasoning however because if you look at the fundamentals of how salvation is attained, they contradict at the core and cannot all be right. Christianity says that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone and works is a mere reflection of what is inside of you..a good tree bears good fruit and a bad tree bears bad fruit; however, every other religion in some way shape or form has a works based salvation where if you do enough good works, you can get to God and go to heaven. They are indeed mutually exclusive. And that’s not hateful for me to say that, because love without truth isn’t love.

What are the blockers for you?
You can not believe in core religious principles but still gain the positives of certain religious traditions and heuristics by acting as if they were true
OP why are you so disconnected from faith. What barriers stop you from believing?
Just be open with them and remind them that God (or whichever deity you need) loves how they made you.
I’m Jewish. Read the bible (including midrash, commentaries...etc, which are a must!), then Origin of species (...etc). Evolution is a real stretch, Bible has significant gaps. I love that Judaism encourages discovery/study so that one can “know” God exists (not simply believe). I’m not there. I struggle with people who are “100%” convinced either way. I just love trying to discover the truth, and along the way learn, develop and live life!
Very true, not sure the answer will matter that much, but would be nice to finally know!
I’m spiritual not religious. But I can’t tell my family that
I’m a Christian but haven’t gone to church consistently since I left for college. I’d like to get back into it soon
I have my own religion. Built on philosophical ideals.
Who told you those ideals were good and bad?
