Layoff at MBB = harsher grading and more people fired. They’ll never do a real layoff
No. I mean sure, that’s a factor, but the biggest issue is that the market turns on a dime and you can’t replace experienced people very quickly. Better to keep the staff and pay low bonuses than have to turn down work and lose share to competitors once the market recovers.
You don’t have to speculate. We have all the data. In October, consulting was the second largest growth sector in the economy
Remember, the economy is gaining jobs at a remarkable pace
Is it really slow for you guys? I feel like it’s business as usual here… except new hires
can you DM me EYP-2. I can’t DM because account is too new.
No layoffs here business as usual
Other than ACN, not that I’ve heard. Seems like the performance management process and associated counsel-outs are getting back up to speed after a couple of years on pause at some places.
It is hard to know at non public firms. Accenture is public, so it’s a bit easier
I know things are extremely slow.
B3, everyone who gets fired , claim they were laid off too. Same as countless posts here who claim to have been rejected at a job because of hiring freeze. Social media is cool, I won’t count that as a source of truth
Thanks P1. WARN act is great. Now can you show me an article where Deloitte or EY publicly claimed that during Covid or an officially communication about that ? (Not LinkedIn , not blind , not social media ) .
In a partnership structure, it is extremely tricky to get an email like Twitter or Amazon. I haven’t seen lay-off at EY in forever. But I know they did , to your point. They let go 300 SMs and PPMDs in 2020. But I didn’t see a public announcement of any kind
I think most consulting firms are waiting to see if it picks up in next 2-3 months before they make cuts. Also, most companies will be worried about the bad PR of letting people go near thanksgiving and Christmas so my guess is, if it hasn’t happened yet then it may happen in January
Time to measure progress on those 2025 and 2030 vision/goals
I don’t think we have to be that dramatic. This is not 2008 scenario where whole housing market took down the financial sector with it. This is inflationary recession which means companies have made record profits in last 2 years so there is no lack of capital in the market.
No layoffs here!

More forced attrition then anything else.
