The best source is to reach out to the respective board of accountancy in each of those states. They are the people that review your application and can give you the actual answer and how they would interpret the law.
Thank you, I’ll be sure to do that!

Yeah reach out to the board. IL has very specific requirements and they’ll be able to tell you which course numbers at your school apply to which requirement
TX requires 30 to be advanced accounting and 24 advanced business course spread out over at least 4 topics. The rest of them can be whatever.
Thank you! I’ll shoot you a DM
I would speak with your academic counselor
Texas has the strictest requirement for CPA, and Illinois is 2nd. I went to UIUC and IL required 32 accounting credit, and TX 35 credits (or at least when I was in school)
Also keep in mind that once you are licensed, your CPA is recognized nationally regardless of where you earned it
And sorry, didn’t see the 2nd part of your response. But your academic advisor definitely is aware of how you can meet CPA requirements, especially in IL and probably for TX. Since IL is the 2nd strictest state for CPA, you will meet requirements in other states if you follow the UIUC program. I would recommend you schedule another meeting during the middle of the semester when things aren’t so busy. They will definitely do a deep dive for you as you near graduation, but academic advisors can get extremely busy given the time of year
Thank you!
