Recognised and respected yes, but I guess compared to what.
UCB then UCLA then a big drop after that for the UCD, UCSD, UCI and another drop to UCSB, UCR etc of the world.

Agreed! UCLA and Cal have universal name recognition. UCSD, UCI, UCD are definitely good schools but are also definitely second tier. The rest are good but not well known.
Lol whenever I told people I went to be Berkeley they’d be like “Berkelee college of music? Omg so cool” 😂
When I was a kid I didn't even realize there was a Berkeley in cali.

Only Ivy League Duke and Stanford and Notre Dame respected on east coast sorry
Hahahahhaha this comment made me laugh
I think Berkeley and UCLA will be. Davis and SD are great schools but don’t have the same name recognition attached
Berkeley more than UCLA or USC.
For MBAs, haas is well respected anywhere, Andersen slightly less so
other masters programs prob depends - UCB cs is very very good, others maybe not
Also I would say in general many masters in the USA are kind of a waste of time and money, so if you wanna do one, you should have a very clear idea of where you wanna be and how it’ll help you get there (and probably speak to the administration of that program, and get their recent placements)
Strongly disagree. My masters program changed my life. I came from a no name undergrad and my masters allowed me to rebrand myself while exposing me to career opportunities that were never heard of at my undergrad. I never would have even heard of consulting if it weren’t for my masters program
Respected? Yes.
Well respected? Probably no.
It’s a great school and a top tier institution in many fields. But it doesn’t have a shock and awe factor.

Listen… after your first job post undergrad and grad, no one cares where you went (unless Ivy) . Make the best choice for you
@D1 I went to a non target target undergrad, went straight to a t20 non mba masters. You bet your life I’m associating myself entirely with the school I did my 1-year masters program with. It’s about branding yourself. Professional posturing
This definitely depends a ton on your program and target industry. Generally speaking schools like UCLA will be way less respected on the East coast than on the west coast.
Berkeley for instance is a very respected research university in academia, top tier in economics around the USA for example. But hedge funds in NY might not be as impressed.

Depends on the program. Berkeley CS and UCLA Math are legit.
In general, definitely do Berkeley over UCLA if your goal is east coast.

No clue, but I think Google would have the answer.
