Worked out for me. Opened a lot of doors that had been slammed shut in my face for years. I also changed careers and did my MBA with 10 years of professional experience.
I spent my savings getting it done and after 5 years I have saved double what I had prior and I have zero debt except my mortgage.
Ask yourself how you can use your experience to open new doors.
Greatest advise I heard in a while.
Don’t compare yourself with anyone unless is with yourself. Sometimes it seems like the grass is greener, but you have to think of yourself as a slingshot. It may look like you’re falling behind, but that’s just because you’re getting ready to propel forward so hard you wont even see it coming.
The race is not over yet!
The idea is that the MBA helps you think like a CEO and make better decisions so you make more money. You will overtake them soon enough.
Focus on you - let them throw money at vacations and a house…
FWIW. All of these things are situational. Bottom line I've found is that if you always work for someone you'll always be limited and tied to your w2. MBA salary or not. I know MBA consultants and bankers making crazy money that have debt and bills and they live paycheck to paycheck, albiet very luxuriously. I know union and public workers who have multiple companies, stock portfolios, or real estate holdings who could quit tomorrow and retire to Switzerland. And vice versa. Your degree will open you some doors. Just don't fall flat on your face when you walk through it. And IMO ultimately, figure out how not to be handcuffed to your w2. Best thing I learned in my MBA was to stop having to work for someone else.
Life is not fair ‘all’ the time.
Currently a 1Y and feel the same way. Many of my peers are buying houses, while I'm spending my life savings for tuition
Extremely worried that I’m a fool for leaving a job I’m already making six figures at yeah absolutely.
We’ll be back up. Tough for a lot of us right now though
