I used a month and 1-1/2 last November and December, when I ended up with acute bronchitis and acute asthma. I’m positive it came from the extreme stress of my job! I had students who were so hard to work with, as all 3 needed to be in an EBD program. One student threw chairs (the heavy plastic with metal legs) at everyone (I had him do this 9 times in 1 day to me alone!). He also would go flying off a table or chair onto adults backs as they would be helping another student and have their backs to him. I started having severe sciatica, leg, knee and hip pain to the point that I could hardly walk and no sleep from being in constant pain. In May, he flew at me while I was putting a book bag on a child. I had severe pain shoot all the way from my back to my ankle, when I realized this pain was all coming from him and not arthritis! Using workmen’s comp, I learned I now have a vertebrae sitting on another vertebrae! It was not this way back in Oct, when I had an issue with my other leg and they wanted to eliminate my back as a part of it. I now have proof he caused that pain for me! I am still living in pain 24/7 even with physical therapy. I resigned my position in March after the many 2 and 3 team meetings against me!
I say this all because the stress and pain I lived with was what put me out for that month and 1/2. I know I have scar tissue as a result of being sick, but I am making a very slow recovery.
