Just realized I could do rear facing in convertible seats so will do that. Thanks all :)
Guys - just purchase the Graco 4ever at Amazon. Here's a great trip: if you buy the 'Cameron' color you can get an extra $48 off. There is a 'special' coupon for this color only. Ended up paying $208 with taxes included.
Car seats aren’t worth the additional prices for the “upscale” brands. We bought all the expensive stuff at first and now we have a few Graco car seats. Kid doesn’t care and the safety tests are great. Save your money for activities and other things that matter
Just bought graco 4 ever... seems good and should last a long time with the configurations. There seem to be no difference between platinum and the model at buybuybaby
Graco 4ever is the way to go!
Nooooooo. Forward facing provides way less protection. The science here is really compelling. Big fan of the Diono Radian rxt. 4 way convertible - infant, rear, front, booster. We'll leave kids rear face until the seats are too small for it.
Check Graco 4ever. It can be used in bunch of different ways - rear facing and forward facing included.
Thanks - did anyone here consider nuna rava?
We already have a bunch of nuna stuff so feel more comfortable buying the same brand
Hey BCG1 - I checked the diono radian per your recommendation and found a pretty bad review:

S1 - interesting. Will def looking crash test part of that review. Having both, I'd flip their ratings in the Diono and Britax. Smaller footprint, easier to clean, more adjustments etc. Heavy as hell though.
