Bad time to get a HELOC? We bought our house Jan 5 2022. Value has stagnated given the market. We had only put 10% down.

I only need about $40-50k. Doable or wait?

You can likely find a 90% HELOC but you’ll pay 2%+ over prime. But, you need to figure out if you have room.

Thx!

If you need the money, then you need the money. The interest rate won’t be good, but will be better than the 18% or more you would have on a credit card.

Try a local credit union. Also, ask about a personal loan as you may be able to get that at a better rate.

Hello Fishes,

I have joined hcl on 24 th sep 2021 and my last working day here is 18th May 2022.
Today I received my provisional full and final settlement and the payable amount is negative -11454. They are recovering the full AMPB amount which I got from September months.
I have heard from this platform only that hcl stopped the recovery police but still I got the negative fnf.

For those of you who got out at 10, do you wish that you rode it out to 20? I’m at a crossroad and I’m not sure what to do. Have some active/reserve time, wrapping up graduate school, and am now considering either a) come back to the business world or b) go active and retire before 50 and live off a nice pension. Obviously there are draws to both. I’m an officer for what it’s worth so I can realistically retire at O-5, MAYBE O-6.

Boyfriend and I on good salary but not saving much due to the above. Before we move home to our own country, we’d love to spend a year close to Vancouver where rent is cheaper, temptation is less, to save. A commute to Vancouver 1-2 times a month needs to be possible (his job). That can be a flight if it’s not crazy. Thoughts? Recommendations?

Hi All

Looking to purchase a 2019 Genesis G70 for 35k. Applied for Auto finance and got it approved from DCU at 4.5%.

I know the rates have increased recently but I think this is still high.

Any suggestions where I could get better rates with a good credit score and history?

My hope is to buy and rent out a apartment while also owning a house and house hacking that by renting part of it out.
