Been consulting for 5 years and still don't get the PTO-to-utilization thing. That and I lose 10-15 days of PTO a year!

I won't take Deloitte's talk about work life balance seriously until they address this.

Because time off, holidays, vacation, (aka personal life) is foreign to us.

@EY1 Its not that easy, any legit company had a work-around for that law so you cant just accrue tens of weeks of PTO

like

Ha, move to a state where vacation is carried over and the firm must allow you to accrue

Can in California I have almost 300 hrs accrued, their is a cap but it pretty high

Have a primary home and a vacation home. We go to vacation home for holidays as family is near by but it is a 2 day drive to get there or a plane ride. With our pups driving has become more of the norm. We do not rent when we are not there. Thinking of buying third home about 4 hours from primary home on the coast for enjoyment. I worry about juggling 3 homes. Anyone with experience with this? Advice?

Quitting before finalizing offers?

I’m at post onsite and negotiation stage at a couple places but it may take another month or 2 due to either hiring freezes or general slow processes.

I want to quit now to go on vacations that I held off during prep. Does it make much difference when I negotiate offers? Like if my upcoming unvested RSU would be (partially) matched, and they find out I quit somehow, is it no longer matched? Other potential snags?

Already burned most of my PTO interviewing.

Is there anyone who’s experienced helping their parents get health insurance? Specifically, they aren’t eligible for Medicare, make too little to qualify for ACA subsidies, and cannot get employer-provided insurance. Only option is to pay standard premiums - and if that ultimately is the case, fine. Not trying to find loopholes, but given their low-income, would be nice to know if there are programs I’m not finding in my rsch.
