Better to leave for Bain at SM level or take promotion at S& to Director. Would join Bain as experienced SM with plan to get promoted in one year.

So they'd give you the SM role with 18 months of tenure credit (i.e., guaranteed AP promotion in a year)? That's a pretty sweet offer

I'm biased of course, but I think you should come here! Barely delays your path to partner vs. S&, and I presume partnership at Bain is more lucrative

Bain any day in this situation

From consulting to investing / lending - anyone has guidance on how to make the move? I’m a consulting manager with finance experience pre-MBA. Thinking about pivoting into investing / lending but struggle to find an angle - assumed that it would be hard to break into investing but lending would be great (all the way from corporate banking to mezz). Any guidance on seeking relevant experience while in consulting?

Feeling like I’ve been “bait-and-switched”…

I’ve been interviewing at an agency with the intention of filling a Director role. Recruitment reached out soon after my last meet-and-greet interview (about 6 to 7 people total) to tell me the team thinks I would be best suited for an Associate Director role with a fast follow of a Director promotion.

Recruitment can’t tell me what feedback is creating this gap but also won’t stop mentioning the positive praise and feedback the team had for me.

I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
