Bone conduction headsets are an Adhd bust.

I tried a bone conduction headset today and it worked like a charm. And honestly if I were hiking on a trail I'd use these in a heart beat to keep aware of my surroundings.

But, these don't block out background sounds, I'm not getting two sets of sounds in my head, what my skull is playing and what my ears are catching. And it's triggering background noise dissonance. If that's a thing.

I have never even heard of that. I like noise cancelling headphones but like you said, it is nice to be aware of your surroundings.

Good to know! I'd been wanting to try them and hadn't made the leap and bought some yet. Music really helps me focus.

If there isn't any background noise, they work like a charm. But if there is it's like listening to two people talking over each other while you're trying to focus on work.

Should be *now getting two sounds*, stupid lack of edit. 😂

Hey fishes,

I got an offer from a company below is the compensation layout. Can you all tell me what will be the in-hand salary per month, will it be 49k?
I can see that EPF for employer is also deducted from my salary so this is not correct based on the EPF Act, is there some other thing which is not correct in the given Annexure?

Thank you!

It’s a 4 year degree and under this I have my High School equivalent with the years I attended there. The education wasn’t mentioned in the interviews. Continued below.

My boss assigns projects with unclear expectations and provides no guidance on how to achieve them.

I've asked for help, and, to avoid a long post, she expects me to figure it out. Perhaps you go through this too, but when I don't have a clear guide on completing big projects, it paralyzes me because I don't know where to start. On top of that, I have anxiety, so "it has to be perfect".

How do you approach projects when your boss plays the "guess what's in my head" game?

I work in sales as a coordinator and do a bunch of paperwork with customers online. I LOVE PEOPLE but dread going to work everyday (wfh 3x a week) because the environment is toxic. I have tried absolutely everything I can think of to limit distractions during the work day and none of it has worked. Working from home has only made it 100 times worse because now I know there are other more interesting things to be distracted by all around me. What do you do to hold focus during working hours? I just started meds yesterday and the change in my focus and attention to detail is mind blowing. My only concern is, just yesterday I had a tough feedback session with my manager around how I’m taking too long to complete my work, giving them anxiety around close deadlines. I’m new in the job (3 months in). Should I explain anything about my adhd to my manager or just wait for them to notice the change in me?

Just here to say I’m so thankful we have this safe space. Stimulants and sweating! I’m going back to the office and never used them while in the office, I don’t want to look or be sweaty haha any advice? I also don’t want to look weird drinking 6L of water as I do in person

So today was my first day on a stimulant (diagnosed as an adult), and everyone says its suppose to feel like *boom* magic, or normal (?) , I guess. Knowing that is figurative, what should I actually be expecting? I feel mostly the same, I think, though I came in and actually did started my work today. But I mean, somedays I do that...I just don't want to psyche myself out if I'm expecting too much. Or pscyhe myself in if I actually might not be experiencing what I should.

Anyone a manager? I’m recently diagnosed (26F) and I can’t help but beat myself up everytime I fall short of my to do list. Makes me feel like a huge disservice to my team. I’ve been trying vitamin D and working out, but it makes my “highs” and “low” SO extreme. The simplest things are so complex in my mind.

If anyone feels similar, how do you manage these feelings? I’m personally considering switching to an individual contributor role, but can’t help but feel like a disappointment if I do.
