Patrick O’Brien “Master and Commander”, the entire Aubrey/Maturin series is good historical fiction
Cixin Liu “Three Body Problem” series is good, but very dark as it goes on
Dan Kahneman “Thinking Fast, and Slow” is a well written behavioral econ intro

Spent quarentine reading the best fantasy of our generation: the works of Brandon Sanderson.

If interested start with Mistborn: the Final Empire.

The premise: the hero goes to defeat the evil villian and loses. The world is then ruled by an evil immortal God-King for a thousand years. The story picks up during his rule.

Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. You’re welcome. Just don’t ask about it book 3

So disappointed in Rothfuss. Didn’t realize he was kind of a dick, until I did some research on Doors of Stone and the august 2020 rumors. Still worth reading the first two. But 9 years.... shaking my damn head. Manuscript has been written since 2013!

Are there any recruiters from IBM who have information on their apprenticeship program (Soft Eng)? I have applied and my application is under review. I am self taught, know the basics of two languages and have some small projects to show. Just wondering if there is anyone that has been through this process.

Hi Folks,

I had joined Deloitte India last June, with fixed pay as 15.5 LPA.
I have total 6.8 years of experience, Senior Consultant.

Now I have an offer from Mindtree, with Total CTC of 22 LPA,today is last day to accept the offer.

I know the appraisal is due in Deloitte India, letter will be released on June 26, my coach said my feedback was good, also scatterplot is good.

What should I do? Should I move on and put down papers or wait for appraisal results then search for opportunities.

Struggled to find any other offers. I now have an offer for a management and technology consultant role at a mid-tier accounting firm for 80k, no bonus. How competitive is this when compared to big 4 entry level salaries in their consulting practices? Any info would be helpful, thank you.
