Sexual harassment will usually get you a quick trip out the door. And it's fun!
Amen ^ D3. OP just sounds like an attention seeking little whiney b****. Go ahead. Get fired. Burn bridges. See how far that gets you and your first world problems. Best of luck!
Op is trying to get laid off, not fired. There is a difference. If they get laid off, no one worth their time will think any less of them. No burnt bridges aside from PwC ambushing people and giving them shit severance lol. Guys, it's not a big deal, calm down
What did I do to get fired? Your mom.
You'll lose your accrued vacation though. If you time it right you can get 8 or 10 weeks of pay by quitting
Getting laid off and getting fired are completely different things. You don't want to get fired
Yeah OP, my friend was literally emailing recruiters with his PwC email 😂 I think if you start dropping hints about how you're not very happy at the firm, it could probably help your case. They can't fire you for being unhappy but they can def counsel you out
Thanks for all the advice!! I've got a lot to work with now. I promise I'll post a follow up soon 😃
Lol nothing wrong with OP's approach. If you want to leave and your firm is going through the shitter, why wouldn't you want the severance or unemployment insurance?
Thanks, P8

OP is just a busta. Would never survive a day in the hood. Please update us on your strategic exit plan when it comes to fruition :)
Op just resign. Your reputation matters in the professional world. You can sometimes run into the same people later in your career. Also, how long have you been working?
He was implying that he would do stuff to impact his performance. Laid off is pure budget
Sorry, I was walking through TSA when I wrote that. I should qualify, in theory that is how they say it works, but I know that myriad high quality PWCers were recently laid off and that was not how it worked in their instance. The reason I got touchy was because I thought that he implied that he wanted to suck at his job or violate compliance to get severance
High performers did get laid off, but there were reasons for it, like low future utilization from rolling off a project and nothing in pipeline, getting into a fight with project leadership, etc. it's just ridiculous to see all of the "loyalty" responses on here when the firm doesn't give 2 shits about you. Glad OP realizes that
Yeah, seriously. No firm truly cares about their people that much these days.
The next round of layoffs is supposedly not for another 2-3 months though, if you need a quicker timeline, you'll have to literally be fired. AKA do something so bad they cut you before they even start cutting other people
Why can't you quit? If the project won't let you leave, that's not legal. You have the right to quit any time you want.
I've seen some interesting lay offs: (a) lying about doing work, then being found out days before a client presentation with nothing done (b) yelling at a younger teammate within earshot of two partners (c) not taking criticism
It's ok, just wait a couple of months. You could volunteer to be laid off in light of economics at the firm, but think I would discuss with HR first
OP you sound like Mahoney from Police Academy
