I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?

Hello I got a confirmation from HR at Shell that I have been selected for a role and there will be background checks before joining the company. He said the mail will come from a 3rd party vendor for the background verification. It has been 1 week and there has been no mails till now. Is it normal? Should I follow up with the HR again?
Have to agree.

All depends on your budget. I’m cheap and got a cheap chair but there’s Herman millers on Facebook marketplace for like $300 which are amazing chairs I hear
I just received shipment notification on my new chair today. I ordered a Bowery Management chair. It’s ultra adjustable and lower-mid range price wise. It has really good reviews. I’m short, so I struggle finding chairs that check all the boxes.
Height of the chair is really important - and when you have shorter legs, a standard office chair is too tall. These will go lower. The seat depth is also adjustable - which is also important for proper for when you are vertically challenged. This for me is one of the more important points. You can always use a foot stand (although not ideal) to compensate for height, but there’s nothing you can do short of putting a pillow behind your back, when the seat is too deep for your legs. This has been my situation since February. Finally caving and buying a new chair. Which sucks, because we just bought this one in November. It is great for casual use or the occasional day spent working from home. However, there’s been nothing casual about the work from home situation since February! There are also a bunch of other features on this one that are nice. It has nice support as well. When traveling I’ve had the opportunity to sit in one at another office I visited and it worked really well for me.
I got a generic gamer chair from staples and it has served me well
Steelcase Leap, bought one a couple of months ago best money I have ever spent
I use an exercise ball and it’s wonderful. Bounce around while listening to music. Comfortable, affordable and easy on the space.
For cheaper alternatives, I would look into Comfilife seat and back cushions. I spent about $50 total for the two items and it makes my black plastic chair feel amazing. You can find them on Amazon. Since they’re travel friendly, I used them in the car also on a long road trip last month and loved it.
I bought a heated massaging executive chair from amazon. It was around 400 and is decent. The heat function is nice. The messaging function is more just a vibration than anything else.
I have had a Steelcase gesture for 3 years now. So worth it.
