I feel like my skill set is being under utilized. 10-20% of the work I do is predictive modeling / data viz & the rest is correcting minutes, powerpoints, and other BS. Has anyone else been here?
Employed dudes love telling me how “it’s actually a great time to be a *woman* looking for a job in advertising” whist I seek employment after being laid off. #thxbro
Unfortunately was just laid off. I’m taking this as an opportunity to look forward to new experiences and people to work with. If anyone knows of any Producer gigs, I’m now available. I’m agency side.
My supervisors go from telling me that I'm valuable to making me think that I'm about to get fired...in a 24 hour period.
Anticipating some layoffs this summer. What is the payout for folks who are let go? SC, been with Deloitte for about 3 yrs
This is a bit of an aside, but over the last year or two, I've noticed "career coaching" explode as a service and a field. But, like what is it? How is it different from therapy, and how should it be utilized? I'm intrigued, but don't know much about it.
A couple of months ago I was hired by Amazon as an Automation Engineer, but got fired after a week due to a positive drug test during the medical visit that is done during the first days. Any thoughts?
So... what is that new PwC utilization target for associates (to make tier 1)? I remember it is 80-something%, but I can't find the actual number anywhere.
So Uber layoffs have started. Uber subsidiary Careem to let go 31% of it’s staff. Sad state of affairs... https://blog.careem.com/en/securing-careem-through-these-uncertain-times/
Majority of the class isn’t getting VC but at what utilization should a first year expect VC?
One of the primary aims of the criminal justice reform movement is to help ex-convicts re-enter the workforce by sealing criminal records, and making it more difficult for employers to judge applicants based on criminal history. The idea is that people are redeemable and capable of reform. Yet the same movement thoroughly enjoys getting people fired and publicly shaming them for making arguments they find “offensive”. A rapist is capable of reform, but not someone who makes a dumb tweet. Got it.
Partners, can you help me understand why top performers are sometimes let go? People with great utilization and snapshots. How can we protect ourselves from this fate?
If you are fired from your job, can you still put in on your resume? Otherwise I’d imagine people would have some long ass gaps...
Just got laid off after a 3-minute call with a partner today. Any layoffs going on in other firms? Love consulting but anxious to find another consulting job now
Snap stock. Hold or sell?
Sharing some non election advertising content that is actually unique... Thoughts? https://www.facebook.com/geico/videos/10154704765894228/
Any recommendations for compact / foldable desks? Classically small NYC bedroom, so I don’t want a “permanent” desk fixture. Ideally looking for something that I can fold up and store on nights / weekends. Under $200-250 would be great. Thanks 🐠 fam!
What will be in hand Salary?
Are private schools worth it? My husband and I both went to public schools so we have no perspective. Want to understand the pros and cons.

How to deal with bf’s mom’s “jealousy”? She always makes a point to mention how much she and bf’s dad like me and has started making comments like “well my female opinion doesnt matter anymore..”
Favorite lawyer jokes?
I am planning to setup an above ground swimming pool for kids(to keep costs low). Does it look like an eye sore considering all my neighbors have in ground pools. Any brand you would recommend?
Been interviewing with D, EY and Accenture at M level. Keep feeling a bait and switch to SC. I'm M currently. The feedback has only been that I "haven't worked on large enough projects" and that 1 yr as an SC to M timeline would allow me to "learn their capabilities, approaches, etc". Anyone else face this? I'm a bit frustrated. High performer, MBA... How much will this effect salary, if I accept an SC vs. M offer?
Hey ladies! I am bad at negotiating salaries (didn’t do it at all for my current job), so wanted to pick your brain about how I should go about this? Got my dream job offer yesterday. (Cont)
How do you avoid comparing yourself to everyone around you? It is starting to dramatically erode my confidence. I dont know how much longer I can last
What’s a good size for an experienced consultant (11 + years) resume? Is anything beyond a two pager a bad idea? I have hard time to shrink my resume down from my current 4 pages.
I'm not going to get back 5 hours of my life. Watched "Indian Matchmaking". Full of incredulous stereotypes that I abhor. Indian here, btw.
