Can you negotiate the tuition reimbursement policy at Deloitte? (As in they start paying for it in my first year but I commit to an additional year at the firm beyond the required time)

Probably not. The policies are standard. They don't make special exceptions.

like

Too much potential for a lawsuit if they start giving out different treatment to different employees. That's why all the programs are standardized. Everyone gets the same thing.

like

No, you have to wait until you have one year of service. Policy is policy.

like

No. You signed a contract. They won't let you out of it.

Why does everyone think they can negotiate things at big 4? Do you realize that the supply of prospective employees substantially exceeds the demand? You're a number OP, despite what recruiting tells you. 😳😳🙄

Tuition reimbursement policy?

Never heard of it?

I am devastated. Ive been with my boyfriend for almost 4 years we were taking about getting married and having kids. Then I discovered he was also in another relationship - 2 years in.
He promised her all the same sweet stuff. I'm trying not to be too hard on myself but I'm not sure I can recover from this.

3 Things to keep in mind which changing jobs:
1. Always ask dedicated budget for the job before you tell your expectations.

2. Always have atleast 2 weeks of gap before you join any company. You might not understand significance of that but just have a gap.

3. Always talk to people of team you will be joining before you accept offer or atleast before you join company.

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.
