Can you work out 2/3 times properly (weights) when on meds and working 12-16h weekdays? I’m titrating so still new, but the couple times I did a workout I felt the next day the meds didn’t work (maybe exhaustion). Any thoughts?

Not really an adhd or medication question but i don’t think you can have productive workouts working 12-16h a day. Id imagine working 16 hours would be so mentally and physically taxing you can’t really push the envelope in training. Theoretically I guess if your sleep and nutrition and supplementation are all dialed in there’s no reason you cant, but 12-16 hours a day is intense.

Your version of “properly” may change. You’ll be exhausted, so maybe just go for lighter more frequent workouts. 12-16 hours is not fun- there’s a reason half of the bankers I know have a slightly pale, gaunt, skinny look and the other half are obese.

It is hard to have a productiv eday working that much. I would say its more about needing sleep and time for yourself.

Originally from Italy, I've been out to anyone at my former jobs in Europe without ever worrying about the reactions of my coworkers. It’s looking like my job is gonna start asking us to return to the office. We have an open office plan and before we wfh FT I would save all my work for my telework days bc I can’t get shit done in the office. I’m having major anxiety about them making this decision. I recently tried quitting everything last Sunday, with drew all last week and then relapsed Friday, Saturday and Sunday worst withdrawals I ever had (cold sweats, shaking, wasn’t sure I would survive). Tips for desk research heavy projects (lots of reading, processing and synthesising information): how do you do it? Are certain meds better/worse? Modafinil feels better for reading and processing info but stimulants better for focus and executing tasks.

My psychiatrist today revealed to me that I may have ADHD, still a hypothesis that he is still exploring but from my personal experiences and discussions with therapist, it seems likely.

One example of personal experience is my ongoing prep for case studies as I'm interviewing with a number of firms. I do struggle to keep focus and generally take a bit longer to finish them, specifically the structuring of the case. Does anybody else feel the same way and any recommendations to overcome this?

My psychiatrist recommended for me to try Ritalin. I’ve been on Dexedrine for a few months, and I’m not really having negative side effects.

Is she a pill mill, or is it worth fixing something that’s not broken?
