They have an excellent Grad program, within London consulting

Great place, thoroughly enjoyed working there

Now... compensation outstanding. WLB, very poor. Pace, exposure and stress high! Wouldn't change it though, sleep when dead as they say.

I am contemplating moving to London (SO lives in UK while I am in Munich). So, couple of questions- What sectors is Capgemini expanding into? I have a generalist profile (digital transformation). Has Brexit had an impact on number of projects /compensation for new employees etc?

Hey MC1 - we cover most sectors, with a bigger presence in Financial Services, Public Sector, Utilities, CPRD. Not a lot of life sciences or automotive in the UK Invent team (yet). Given most of our work is domestic UK, Brexit hasn’t had a big impact! There are some mainland Europe projects that are requiring work visas now but nothing significant that can’t be handled. Feel free to DM if you’re interested in chatting more

I have an exit offer to a major PharmaCo, really excited about the offer and company in another state. The problem is that the start date is right when my wife is due with our first child. Normally nbd, but we just found out that my wife has developed a heart condition because of the pregnancy. OBGYN and Cardiologist both have said that it would be ultra high risk for to move before the baby comes and will be safe 1-2month after. Tips moving the start date without getting the offer pulled?

Anyone know what kind of experience or certifications I should be aiming to get if I'm trying to break into a pentest role? I just graduated last year and have about a year of sysadmin experience and am trying to get into it asap. So, I'm already applying/job hunting and probably won't get much replies but. Should I be looking at more security analyst/admin roles first? Going for certs? Getting a masters? Wondering what I can do to improve my chances. TIA

Does anyone else feel that itch or that in the heart feeling of wanting to go elsewhere and explore options, places and people?? Maybe I’m just feeling this because I’m in a very good job with a good boyfriend and a new home.... or maybe it’s the year long pandemic...but I have this nagging sense that I need to get out and live the wild. Try things and go places and explore art and culture. I’m terrified of living a regular, predictable life. Is it more crazy to go? Or more crazy to stay?

With all this extra, often unnecessary, communication while my company works remote, I’ve been having an awful time getting actual work done. So I’ve started to block off major chunks of my day every morning and put up an autorespond message saying I’m focusing on a deliverable, but will be available to respond at x time and if it’s an emergency to text. HOLY SHIT. What a game changer. I can actually get work done guilt free. I realize not everyone is able to do this, but if you can, do it.
