I gave 4 rounds of interview for Manager 1 but the final decision was that I am unable to raise the bar. The recruitment coordinator asked me if he can keep my details or share my details to his colleagues so that they can check if I fit in some other role in future. Any idea about the cool off period?Amazon

Just based on your comments OP, you aren’t going to come in as an MD. All external EI MD hires are senior MBB or T2 partners.
Take a look at the external directors, we’ve hired from all firms from MBB to T2 to B4. You think those people are coming for a pay-cut? We’ve hired Accenture MD into a Director role even a T2 Partner into one.
We only think of total comp. your base is just a useless number that indicates your pay check amount but all of it gets trued up in the end. You have people with bonuses that are 30% of base and others with 80% of base, so you’re asking the wrong question.
No idea what MD bonuses are like.
Honestly, pay should not be your focus if you’re thinking about joining the firm. We’ll treat you well comp wise. And if you make it through the process you’ll learn about the numbers throughout the process anyway. HR will be very happy to tell you ranges at which you’re considered.
Well, most management consulting firms will specify comp in terms of a base and an x-y% by time in trade for role...and its important because you know you are assured base+x% as the floor.
Interestingly Alix doesn’t have a “time in grade” or up or out at the director / MD levels which is why my Q in the first place.
It’s not about pay being the only focus but it’s an important part of the process relative to other options.
Ballpark ranges. We vary greatly.
D $300-600K
MD $500K+
It is possible to make less in Year 1and/or 2 as MD than your last year of D because of how vesting works.
Thanks so much...so you mind sharing what a senior level Director’s base vs. bonus range might look like? And same for early stage MD?
