Currently an implementation consultant with 6.5yoe. Received an offer at 180k OTE for a sales engineering position (no sales engineering experience) at 70/30 with 35k in equity (4 year best).

Is this a decent offer? My current TC is about 165k, but the team I’m joining averages 10% on top through accelerators as well so I’m realistically looking at about 200k TC excluding equity.

I’m sitting here with only one demo two months after joining the company. it looks like our team has only two people doing demos, and demos are only happening once every two weeks. At this rate, I don’t think I’ll be even close to hitting OTE. Are there any other companies hiring right now? Anyone feel frustrated at times with the super aggressive sales personalities we deal with? My AE is always pushing on every ask no matter how minuscule it is. My vp is super anal about anything we do. I understand these guys pull in huge commissions and bonuses that’s why they are so motivated. However what I personally feel is they just nag us until we do the job according to their spec. Just venting……anyone else feel the same?
