Currently an M2 exploring a move from B4 to a smaller firm (top 10). Anyone have experience in that situation on the work, WLB, benefits? Not thrilled with the direction of my current firm and looking at options for after busy season.

Why wait till after busy season? Firms are more desperate now lol

Hours are much lower but I found I had to do work well below my experience and rank. Ranks are just not comparable. As a manager you’ll be doing staff/senior work. I saw partners and directors detail reviewing returns. It’s also felt way more political because the offices are smaller. Many offices were acquired and have their own culture and way of operating.

Dm me.

Hey Everyone,

I will be joining EY GDS in August 2021. There's a pay component "Advanced Statutory Bonus" of around 26k per annum. Any idea what this is? Is it truly fixed or will depend on firm's performance?

Thanks!

We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?

H1B visa stamped.

While applying for visa my company quoted 80K as compensation. Now they want to reduce it to 75K.

This feels like unfair practice. Is it common? What should be my approach?

Hi Fishes, working in TCS, Help me choose below option.
TCS giving USA onsite, ~80k USD ( H1B was expired, came back to India, still 3 years left, have approved H1B extension, not stamped yet) - CCTC - 9.25L

Hadn’t noticed this sub before, and most of the threads are old so thought I’d ask a follow up - how has everyone been handling parenting with public accounting? I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. Busy season was rough, things are looking better now as things return to normal. Still working crazy hours if you count the daycare duties on top of utilization targets.
