Any one familiar with comp for a Portfolio Associate roll at PIMCO on their mortgage backed securities team? I’m looking at an offer and want make sure I’m in line with the average comp for the company and industry. Only 4 months of experience and offer is 98k w/ 10-20% bonus plus 15k relo/ sign on. Looking at Glassdoor, bonuses seem higher than quoted by the hiring manager. (No written offer yet they say they’re still working on it)

Hey guys, Since I am working in Deloitte and right now, I am working from home. I want to go Nepal for 2 months and I want to work from there. Do I need to tell my manager or simply I can go there and start my work. Is there any obligation?
Note- I don't want to tell anyone. Since it may backfire sometimes

Partner is CPA and shareholder
Principal is shareholder
Managing Director is an employee
How does the package work for a principal - base/bonus/stock or entirely different?
There’s no direct correlation. There are former IBM partners and APs who came over to Deloitte as Principals as well as MDs. They are of equivalent rank, the only difference is that an MD is an employee with guaranteed base comp and variable bonus, vs a Principal who’s entire compensation is variable - based on firm income. Only proven market-makers who will be immediately sales-accretive get a direct admit to Principal.
At the AP level, the issue is that years ago GBS basically made it impossible to get promoted from a AP/B10 to VP/Band E. So there are APs who are portfolio leads, been in the role for 10+ years, basically “partners in name only”, at the same level as someone who’s just been recently promoted from Senior Managing Consultant. Established AP leaders (6+ years) will tend to come in at PMD. But APs with less experience will usually be offered Senior Manager.
I was more gracious than you are then 😃
V clear Thank you. Would a principal or partner lead an industry or service line or be more senior than that?
Partner/Principal indeed lead industries/service lines. Just as a side note, we have 5 levels there
5 levels within partner and principal or 5 within each one?
Its the same as the executive bands at IBM (Band E - Band A). It’s just a way of differentiating seniority within the same title.
I did not think MD is equivalent to an IBM AP. As D1 said, MD is an employee but at the same level as a Partner/Principal. That’s why it is called PPMD. am I correct?
Deloitte is the one exception. There’s no skew between MD and Principal for us. Also unlike other B4, MD for us is not a stepping stone - its very rare for an MD to switch to Principal.
