I never really ever have lunch breaks

I think we realize it’s toxic and would rather it change, but we’re all at the mercy of our manager’s standards and the timelines our clients are demanding (which have gotten much worse since 2020).

Some days I eat donuts for lunch. You're telling me there's people out here doing whole workouts?
I need to workout in the morning or else I’m not doing it.
That said, when I did workout during lunch, it was at a gym that was a stone’s throw away from my job. My workouts felt rushed because I’d have to account for a quick shower afterwards and get back within 60-80 minutes.
It would be far too easy for me to find reasons/excuses not to work out at lunchtime. Instead, I work out between 6:30 a.m. and 8 a.m., five to six days a week. That way, I’m not quite fully awake and can’t come up with excuses or reasons not to go. I’m up; I’m dressed; I’m going.

You should know this doesn’t give the perception that you’re a hard worker. Only that you’re not good at managing your time.

Depends on level, agency, number of meetings.
We’re WFH M/F and I can usually do it those days. When I was earlier career and my agencies had gyms in the office, I could often do it during the week as well. Also easier as a dude with short hair. (also it’s easier to do after weights than cardio as you’ll cook down much faster)
For consistency, I almost always work out in the morning before work. 3-4 days during the week. 1-2 days on the weekend .
I have to shower after a workout, which means I could only do 30 minutes. Therefore mornings or evenings only. What I have done during lunch is go for a long walk, even if it’s a walk to get lunch. There you can get your heart rate up slightly if you’re moving with purpose, but not get sweaty enough to stink and feel gross for the rest of the day.
Years ago, I worked at an agency in Ohio and one of my accounts was PASS sports - a cable channel for Michigan sports. I went up to visit Domino Farms - owned by Tom Monaghan, owner of Domino’s Pizza and the Detroit Tigers ( at that time). The offices there were unexpectedly mind-boggling. Big “wow!” factor.
Tom was a health and fitness enthusiast and Domino Farms (petting zoo) and the corporate offices were on a huge estate property - miles from anything. Obviously, employees got free pizza, but there was an amazing, full-service cafeteria there with lots of healthy choices offered.
The thing that amazed me the most (other than the astonishingly detailed miniature model of Tiger Stadium in Tom’s office) was their on-site gym that
was way larger than most commercial clubs! It was state-of-the-art with an expansive workout area featuring tons of machines and free weights, an Olympic size pool, and a full-size running track. There was also a steam room, sauna, and showers. It was open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays. Pretty impressive perk!
Employees could even earn extra vacation days and bonuses of up to $3000 a year for losing weight and/or staying fit. If you were working out at lunchtime ( they had staggered lunch hours), you got an extra 30 minutes to give you time to shower and grab something to eat. It was amazing. ( And most of the employees looked good. When Tom showed me the gym, it was pretty busy!)
The only reason I remember everything about it was I seriously considered taking an in-house job there! (It was just too long of commute for me!)
Just started freelancing at a place that added a lunch break to everyone’s calendars. I thought, “I wonder how long this lasts?” Got a meeting scheduled over it first day. :)
I can do lunchtime workouts on mondays and fridays when things are slow or in the more concepting phase. i tell my creative partner, she covers for me
I don’t call them lunchtime workouts. Basically, when I’m working from home and have a break in my day, I use it to workout. Could be before lunch. Could be after lunch.
I figure I’d rather take that time to work on me than work on a deck for an extra 45 mins. It’s going to get done either way. So, prioritize your health.

When I was at FCB chicago, I used to try to go everyday during lunch. If I had to miss it, I’d workout right after work. Just gotta get it in somehow.
