It’s just sad that we live in a world where you have to ask that. Sigh. 😔 oh, capitalism.
I often have lots of time for family and hobbies.
Some of this needs to be on you - proper time management, setting boundaries, pushing back or working with accounts to set realistic time lines, etc.
It depends how much you're able to grow into the "director" part of the job title. Get good at setting up projects properly, building trust among teams, and delegating appropriately and you'll have a decent WLB.
Depends on your boss’s expectations of you. I’ve worked at agencies where I had a terrible WLB, and I’ve worked at agencies that had a too good to be true WLB.
Depends on the city I guess. I work everyday till 6.30pm
Way more WLB than when I was a creative.

I have plenty of time for that stuff. I work about 45 - 50 hours a week for a FAANG company. And I make well over 200k, which allows me to pay for help with some things around the house that would eat up family time.
