Do you all feel well-respected as PAs? Sounds like this doctor was being overly harsh with their words, but I'm wondering if you've all ever faced such blatant criticism from physicians?

Most of the time, though, I’ve found that building strong relationships with the physicians I work with helps avoid that kind of criticism. Open communication and showing confidence in my skills have helped me gain respect.

I’ve definitely faced criticism from physicians, especially early in my career. Some of it was constructive, but I’ve also dealt with comments that felt unnecessarily harsh.

I’ve had physicians who treated me as an equal and valued my input, but I’ve also experienced some who clearly didn’t respect the PA role. The harsh criticism seems to come from those who don’t fully understand or appreciate what we do.

I'm starting to realize that a lot of my life problems are from me trying to treat my depression with alcohol. This is the most sober I've been in a long time and generally I feel a lot better but it would be so easy to get drunk. Physically the consequences are what are keeping me from doing it. It makes me feel really good though and I miss the high, I am grateful that I can resist it now but at least temporarily it was a cure that worked it made me feel accepted and whole.

Maybe this is the socialist in me but shouldn’t Moderna and Pfizer waive their patent exclusivity for their Covid vaccines? Don’t we have a moral obligation for the world to vaccinate as many people as quickly as possible?

It blows my mind that many countries won’t be able to vaccinate most of their people until 2023. There should be access to vaccine generics
