No, risk is gone. Let’s get back to life
To be fair, there is no decision you make in life that is risk free or has 0 risk. Everything we do has a risk; however risk is also personal. Some people’s threshold for risk tolerance are higher than others as well.
For example, I don’t believe COVID poses a risk to my family as our immune system has been good thus far. We have been in close contact with a COVID positive person for a week, and the entire time my family and I tested negative for COVID.
As an aside, I do take my due diligence seriously and respect other’s choices for their own health. When my daughter gets sick, I make sure she isn’t contagious before taking her to school.
The return to office movement is led mainly by "leaders" who see a threat to their petty power games and can't get over their inertia despite what they likely preach to clients about future trends. Pay attention, OP, and make careful decisions about the quality of leadership you want to work for. You have one life.
It's telling when people will carefully carve out exceptions to minimize the danger covid poses, like leaving out unvaccinated, immunocompromized, elerly or overweight individuals from their calculations. As if a vaccinated person can't transmit to these groups, or those lives are worth less than minor inconvenience or discomfort for those of us who are young and healthy.
World War II lasted six years; it was won the backs of young men, some barely twenty. I wonder what those today whose argument amounts to "It's been two years and I won't be directly affected" would have made of that threat. Short-termism is the real endemic.
💯
A lot of “leaders” made careers blabbing in conference rooms and sitting in private office ivory towers.

I have found very few early professionals who have become strong resources through working remote. Other than software development majority of consulting requires strong experience and knowledge. Working very closely with others who have that experience is how you learn. Doing that remote is incredibly difficult

Manufacturing, distribution, logistics, transportation all happen in person. Millions of professionals support these industries and consultants not on-site are not seeing and learning this.
Not sure why this is a big deal. My husband has been going into the office everyday since July 2020. People still go work at Target, grocery stores, coffee shops. As well as the Amazon Prime warehouse people and truck drivers sending goods. And let’s not forget…someone has to make that toilet paper!
So what makes us any different than those people?! Plus we are all vaxxed so we should be safe right?!
If you can go out to eat, travel and go to concerts and the super bowl it’s not an emergency anymore.
This is more generally speaking. I know there are always exceptions so don’t @ me.
And yet…. The same people who say “no” to going into office will go to a sporting event with 18,000 people, no one wearing masks. I know, I did it recently and I also don’t want to go back into office.
At least you’re honest about it! 🙂😜
No.
To my understanding, KPMG have made it compulsory to be in either your home office or client site atleast twice a week
this might be specific to your region we just had recent email where they encourage wed come in but it’s specifically optional, and thank the fuck cuz that’s some bull.
if my office ever forces me back in i will find another job, even if i like coming in every now and then. who cares if we get our work done, they take enough of our lives with the scam pay and hours

PwC is doing a great job with this.

It was already in the works. They announced their goal to up the workforce to 100,000 FTE. WFH was long in the picture.
No. Suck it up.
Didn’t have time to read all the comments, so this sentiment may have already been expressed. BTW sorry to hear about your long COVID.
Everyone should get vaccinated and a booster for their own good and for the good of their fellow humans. Don’t be anti-science or plain crazy. That being said, their have been previous examples of virus trends on a similar trajectory to COVID. Each time it mutates, it gets more contagious, but less deadly. After Omicron burned so hot and fast, we “likely” won’t get a deadlier version. If we do, we can reevaluate as a society. Until then, we should drop a lot of these silly protocols that aren’t actually being followed.
In terms of being in the office, I believe society operating remotely (and quite successful) in lots of “traditional office” roles will get companies to rethink just how necessary (and costly) being in person can be. At the very least, I believe it will lead to a more hybrid model especially as the oldest “most traditional” leaders in orgs retire / die.
Btw, I vote like a blue dumbbell or sheep, because the alternative won’t have me with their hard commitment to so many stupid things.

Something that doesn’t keep you from spreading a disease is “good for fellow humans” because it keeps you out of the hospital?
So people who have recovered from Covid and thus have similar hosp/death risk (source below) are also doing their part for the good of humanity right? No vax needed.
So every trip you take in your automobile or trans fat you consume means you’re a freeloading anti-health nut right?
lol as if corporate culture the last century has been psychologically beneficial. WFH brings parents back to the home, benefits the environment from reduced carbon emissions, and allows more time for individuals to pursue professional and personal goals.
I bet the OP is upset that more Ukrainians aren’t wearing masks while Russia invades.
Thought of that yesterday too.
I mean every employer is basically encouraging it. Until they mandate you to come in you don’t really have anything to complain about. Just don’t go in.
Call me crazy, but I never worked from home. Still traveled every week. In PNW too.
I’ve worked for KPMG before, they’re very anal about being in the office compared to the other big 4. They just have an obsession about seeing you face to face. Don’t know why
Its not like the people are pretty either.. i mean it aint deloitte.

At risk of traffic accidents, definitely
We have been back at the office for months now. Yes we are seeing some positive cases but they are mostly minor cold like symptoms. We have flexible working arrangements in place so you get a mixture of in the office and working from home. We all like the balance
Come to EY. KPMG culture is outrage!!

Plenty of value in a hybrid model where early professionals can learn from more experienced resources
Kpmg 13 why even say something that stupid? Just makes you look petulant and like and Ass
Wow. You are unbelievably offensive, rude and discriminatory. Please address me by my proper pronoun: hulk/thor.
It amazes me the number of people traveling for personal and out in restaurants and complaining about masks and who also are concerned for their health when going back to office
You can’t be serious
