Anyone going to church every week in NYC?
I am looking to identify committed Christians within Deloitte who would be interested in serving on the US board of a global non-profit committed to restoring the lives of those who have been traumatized via human trafficking or gender-based violence in SE Asia. Deloitte has been instrumental in partnering with Hagar International via pro-bono consulting and we would love to leverage this partnership on our US board.

Understandable. Our field of work can sometimes require a lot of us, and it can be easy to get sucked into it.
I’d offer you one thing to think about. Our first ministry, before work, before even things we do in our churches and communities, is our family (spouse and kids), and we must steward our responsibility to our families well. It is honorable to want to work and provide for the future. Having a vision is part of stewarding your family well. But what you don’t want to happen is that years from now, your kids say, “Yes, my parents gave me the resources I needed, but I don’t remember them being present.” children grow up to be adults who remember if their parents were present or not. You’ll always be able to make money; your children are children only once. But also, it’s not fair to expect them to understand why their parent is missing; they won’t because they shouldn’t have to.
Just my two cents. But give yourself some grace. Again, your intentions for working hard are pure and honorable. Praying you’re able to find a healthy balance. 🙂
