Check for domestic partner rules. At my firm, you have to have lived with the partner for a year, share at least 1 account, etc. It was fairly easy to get approved.

One important note is that - to my understanding - HSA plans have strict rules that you can’t use tax advantaged HSA funds to pay for your partner’s bills. Your bf can still get the preventative stuff covered and coverage still kicks in after a high deductible, but all the HSA funds you and your employer deposit can only be used for your own expenses.

I think most (all?) plans are written in a way to allow spousal equivalents to be covered. Spousal equivalent would include long term relationships regardless of genders.

You'll probably need to sign something after reading the eligibility requirements but as long as you aren't related and are in a real relationship it shouldn't be an issue.

Does anyone here have advice on how to move into biglaw? I’ve spent my entire career in government and worked my way up to my current level where I handle privacy, healthcare, L&E, government investigations/audits, and public contracting and procurement issues. Don't use amerisourcebergen. They force us to work feom home. They refuse to allow anyone back in the office, even those of us who have a ADA from feom doctors stating that I need to go back into the office due to the affects of isolation. HR told me and I quote "we don't have to do anything thar is recommended by your doctor on the ada forms they sent it. It goes by business needs" they have absolutely no mental health awareness and leadership is a joke.

Is there anyone who has worked for MBB before joining Deloitte? I took the plunge- I was in the Knowledge Consulting track (so, same hours, same work, half pay compared to integrative) with McKinsey, joined Deloitte about 6 months back... But things seem such lower quality compared to pretty much everything McK. And this stretches from the quality of solutions, to D's ability to counsel clients,to the benefits package AND to back office processes.

Is this expected?Or am I doing something wrong?

Don't get me wrong, marriage is not imp, company is. Parents are technically out of time & are worried, after them, if you are left alone whole life if not married soon. Nobody gives a s**t about you whether single or married, except parents.
First talk to few with age 40s+ who stayed single to learn how to live alone & then plan. You cannot decide about something you never experienced yet.
