Hi all- I’m new to real estate investing. What are some books/ reading materials you would recommend to learn about selecting the right investment property, things to look out for, laws etc.?
To con't the conversation on engagement rings💍 - what do they symbolize to you? My BF and I got into a discussion about this last night. He views them as an investment and an "asset" on the books for his future family. He also has grandparents who had to finance their trip to America by selling their jewels. I see the ring as more of a gift to the future bride that is an expense that can be sold for money if needed, but isn't an investment. I'm fine w/ lab grown, he is not. Thoughts?

Would you go to a group event? Your team leader invites the team (8 people who have all been working 100% wfh) out for breakfast or lunch but there is no requirement for people to be vaccinated and you aren't allowed to ask anyone about their vaccination status. Attendance is entirely optional. Would you go?
Where are the office Halloween zoom pics???
Just received cousin's invite to her wedding and it's on a Sunday. It's not necessarily a destination wedding but is in a city that neither she nor her family, nor her partner's family lives, so everybody has to fly + get hotels. I'm annoyed because I think it's a but disrespectful to your guests to make them all travel and do it on a Sunday so people have to take time off work Monday in order to attend. I know I don't have to attend, but shouldn't it be convenient for guests?
I dont see how I could ever not work from home again. if the day comes, going to be so painful
Did anyone recently get Dropbox eligibility/interview waiver in India? I'm getting the waiver which I didn't expect because my last stamping was not in India. Does anyone know if they removed this rule? It wasn't even asked in the questionnaire leading to the waiver message.
Considering going into FP&A because I hear a lot of people like it.... I haven't done much with it so trying to figure out if I'd like it or not. Is it like managerial or cost accounting classes in college? Or similar to finance classes in college (vs accounting classes)? Or anything to compare it to? I've done engagement economics analysis and budget to actual and enjoyed that, but not sure if that's even remotely similar? What's your experience been?
Odd question to ask. Do you know how much money waiters are making? My mother in law insists that all waiters even in tri-state area is paid $2.5 an hour and therefore we should be nice to them and leave big tips. And we should be thankful to have a job. 🤣🤣She’s from Orlando and said that’s how much they are paid. For real?
