I'm curious what the average salary is for an Associate Agent. I'm licensed & do everything after the sale is made as well as refer new business. I have 14 years in the industry but have been at the current company less than a year, so I know that plays a part as well. Anyone in a like-position by chance?State Farm Allstate Travelers

Kaiser Permanente has a pension. I'm going to be starting it next January if all goes well.
Same. Nationwide does. My pension is still a pretty small amount after 9 years, but it’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. I’m happy to have anything.
Okay, I believe you. As I said, I’m happy to have anything.
I assume current employees are all defined contribution plans and not defined benefit plans.
I have a defined contribution plan plus 401k. They did away with the defined contribution plan for new employees a few years ago, though. I’ve been with the company over 20 years and it will pay me about $1000 a month in an annuity, or I can roll over the money (about $150k) into an IRA when I retire next year.
Travelers has pension
@travelers 2, it’s still a nice benefit. The contribution is based on your age and years of service 2-6% of your salary can be meaningful in the long run. The pension plus the 401k match is more than most carriers are providing today.
Defined benefit plans with enough benefit per month to live on are unfortunately a thing of the past.
Farmers and Nationwide are paying pensions to former employees, but my start dates were quite a few years ago, so it may have changed recently.
Allstate still has a pension
A lot of the financial services companies still do. I have one at FM.
Liberty Mutual did away with it. it is sadly a thing of the past for most companies
exactly right NYL 1. the pension, even a cash balance pension, was something aside from the 401K, not subject toe the ups and downs of the market, that you get the rest of your life. That cash balance pension Liberty had and did away with, was %5 of your annual salary per year. that built up over time in a high interest account. I can start collecting it long before 59.5 years of age too, or can cash it out (with penalty and taxes). I still have both pensions from Liberty, but they had stopped the traditional pension years ago and gave the cash balance pension as a substitute. even combined, it is not much, but it is at least still guaranteed income
Nationwide
Yes, ERIE does
Metlife has a defined pension plan. New employees qualify.
I used to work at the VA. I’m now a financial advisor for New York Life. One of my favorite ways to help people is to bring pensions back to individuals and families. It’s not out of reach. And it’s easier than you think.
36 yrs face to face cold sales.
Yes, they’re called renewals. To be successful you must be rigorously honest with yourself. 1. 100% commission 2. Base + small commission 3. Hourly/salary.
If you have “it” and can “really” sell 100% commission without question!
From there just be honest with yourself what are you comfortable with?

American Family Insurance
WTW has one. 5 years vest
Prudential has a pension as well as a 401(k) match.
Yes, if you officially retired with a pension package, you still get it for the extent of the pension commitment. So, YES I have a State Farm Pension, because I was vested with it. But, I understand State Farm, like most other insurers, does not provide pension packages (per se) to new hires anymore.
We have pensions and 401k
Some government entities still provide them. I work at a Community Mental Health and they offer a good pension plan. You just have to stay long enough to benefit from it!
Voya Financial has a pension
