Does anyone work at a firm that has a rotational program for its interns and/or staff accountants? Meaning that they may cycle through working several month (or longer) stints in tax, then audit, then CAAS, or any combo of service areas? We have some people at our firm that are pushing this and curious of any firsthand experience with pros, cons, etc.

KPMG did with our risk service line a few years ago. Was a giant mess because skill sets didn’t align to projects 2/3 of the time, and then when they did, managers didn’t want to let go of good people.

Can’t imagine between audit, tax, etc. - feel like it’s probably going to be difficult

KPMG has the Embark Scholar program which is a two summer internship. The first year they rotate through the three main service lines and then they pick one to intern in and do a full internship the second year.

I’ve seen this at Deloitte when I was there

I would like to transfer my career to Healthcare Data Analytics. I’m gaining my data analytics certification by the ending of November. I’ve also worked and still currently working for great healthcare company’s. I also have lots of great healthcare data experience. My only concern is no degree. What can I say to recruiters that will WOW them or replace the fact I have no degree because that’s what most of these company’s require.

Currently SM at Bain (4 years post MBA) and was approached for a senior associate role in portfolio ops at a large PE fund. Been told 2.5 years to VP and another 2.5 years to director. Feels like the role is a bit junior but offers a 50% pay jump.

Thoughts on seniority? Also, any interview resources for PE portfolio roles?
