Does your efficiency go down during this time of year? Or are you pushed to be the most efficient?

I don't think I'm really being pushed, but I feel efficient now and intend to be pretty productive for the next three weeks. Might as well finish up the year strong. I'll be off from Christmas through New Year's, so the word efficiency will leave my lexicon for that period.

We have an end of year push to get everything done before the end of the year and of course it is always when a lot of people are out too. I won’t say we are being extremely overworked, definitely not a lot of room for slacking off either. I can say it makes the days and weeks go by fast leading up to vacation at least!

I think it's a bit of a mix. In some cases, projects are at a standstill since so many people are on PTO or in last minute trainings. It's hard to get approvals and signatures in many situations. On the other hand, since so many people are gone, there is some real time to focus.

I would say my efficiency and productivity are about the same as they always are during the rest of the year. However, I am not my expecting this to last all the way to the end of the year break if I am being completely honest. I am sane I will hit that end of the year energy wall any day now but until then I will keep working at my normal pace until I simply cannot any more.

Starts to go down

While I woudl really love to not be efficient I know that the more I get done the less I have piling up. I push myself to get things done during the holidays because I want to be able to enjoy my days off and not be super stressed about the work that is waiting for me when I get back from enjoying my holidays.
