Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Mike Abrashof’s “It’s your ship” made me laugh, cry, and want to be a better manager to inspire my team. Highly recommend!
Expectation setting. Having a conversation about "here's how I work best, how do you work, here's what I expect"
Don’t expect me to telepathically know a) what you want and how/when you want it, b) how to run a damn engagement I’ve never done before all by myself and then admonish me when I fail. Speaking from experience
My managers always say something positive before tearing apart my presentations and models. Sounds stupid but saying “looks good so far!” Or “Great work!” before telling me what i need to fix makes a world of difference.
Shifting the focus to the development of the team - ask the team what they hope to learn and achieve through the engagement and invest time in making sure they achieve their goals. Also continuously ask for upward feedback and create an environment where nobody has to be politically correct
I worked recently with a manager who asked me to never make slides out of e.g. research until we knew exactly which aspects were relevant. Moral or the story - we consultants do a lot of work that is never used. A good manager really mimimizes that (also through managing upwards)
"Multipliers" by Liz Wiseman. But, it may make you feel self-conscious!
Personable, self deprecating, no ego, defers power to their team, listens to them, motivates them, eats with them at lunch, knows a little about their personal lives, knows their skills, recognizes them publicly. To name a few.
Managing well
^ I work with a new team every month and with multiple teams all the time. If I follow what you said, I will be dead in a few weeks.
Same here. Past 10 years. Still alive.
