Yikes. So much yikes.
This happened at an agency that I worked at years ago. Salaries were all over the map, it was a big mess. Ask for a raise.

This happened at Lowe NY in the 90’s. We were excited to find it.
Plenty of valid points here about pay inequities across groups. Don’t know your situation or whether that applies to you so not going to make assumptions there - if so then that’s a whole other thing to unpack. But here’s one other thing that is always the toughest conversation to have: setting aside systemic issues, pay at agencies is also merit based. Top performers get paid more. Weaker performers get paid less. So if you’re going to have a conversation about it, I’d come at it from a stance of “I saw my salary in the mix and I’d to (a) understand it and (b) know what I can do to close it.”
Alternatively, if you want to take more of a stance my number one piece of advice would be to avoid making it about you vs another individual - make it about your value to the company. Everyone is at their own stage of their career and has unique factors so comparisons are a non-starter at a 1:1 level. Come in with “I think I’m worth XX more and here’s my evidence”, and back it up with client/team testimonials, new biz track record, project successes etc.
Do it.
Good luck
As someone who worked in advertising finance- No.
Your answer is: yes. And don't feel a bit of shame. In fact, management is probably doing calls to fight against your exact situation.
Also CRINGE. What an epic screw up or power play by HR.
What does the boss make?
This was not an accident. 😂
You should totally ask for a raise… but before you do, ask yourself why the others are paid better. Do you win as much business as them? Are their accounts bigger with a bigger retainer fee? Are they better at presenting ideas to the client? Have they been there longer? Have they received offers from other businesses that were then countered by your employer?
Worry less about the title and more about your contribution. Then the money will come.
And more importantly, ask yourself: are you, or could you be, a white dude?
Holy crap! What a screw up? I think what some of the folks were saying about it being on purpose are on to something.
If not now, when?
I love when this happens, only good can come of it.
