Anyone from Boston Consulting Group Boston Consulting Group (BCG) working in non-consulting - Technology/Engineering/Global Services?
How's the work life balance? Glassdoor reviews are full of "long working hours" and hence wanted to know if it's the same with non-consulting folks as well?
How far is it true across the organisation?
Please help me shed some light to decide.
Thanks.

Set boundaries. Leave at a set time daily to pick kids up for daycare, eat dinner as a family, and get them to sleep. Work remotely when kids are asleep as needed.
Block your calendar for the times in the morning/evening needed for daycare pickups/dropoffs, getting the kids ready for bed, etc. Make sure to communicate those boundaries to your teams.
Work in a day or two where you work from home if you can. Make it the same ones every week so expectations are set. Taking commute time out can make up for not being available evenings other days.
Get one. This will help the most. Much cheaper than a nanny, flexible hours, lives with you in your house.
Agree with what has been said. Definitely set boundaries. Kids are so much more important. Coordinate with your SO so y’all are on the same page.
Communicate with your teams so everyone is on the same page. Don’t feel bad about reminding people - we’re all forgetful. Your team/partners are always willing to work with you. Issues usually come up when people don’t ask or don’t think they can.
If needed, you could always do an AWA. I’ve seen them before where it’s still technically full time, but capped at ~45
It’s going to be tough since you’re a first year manager (new role, a lot different from senior), but definitely doable.
Au pair (live in person).
