If you’re white like me it’s so important to realize that we were raised in a society where institutionalized racism is normalized, and we were born with privilege. You can’t choose the color of your skin, but you can choose to put ego aside and reflect on why this isn’t happening to me, and be vocal about being anti-racist.

Starcom, you make it sound like OP is making 6 figures and lives on Rahmmen and has 18 roommates
Save 15% of your income in a Roth 401k. At your age, the compound growth in the money will be insane. Put the money in diversified index funds with low expense ratios. If you're holding debt, pay it off and only contribute up to the company match % until debts are paid. Make sure you have 3-6 months of expenses in an emergency fund (savings account).
Go with a vanguard fund that stays with the Fortune 500. Cheap. Reliable. If it tanks, it means the world is ending so who cares.
If you have a 401k, at least 10% contribution. Also, most companies match your contribution, so don't leave free money on the table!!
👆the point is to start investing now. Compound growth is incredible...time is on his/her side. Everything else I reco'd can come with time.
5-10% and scale up as you make more
...maybe you didn't learn things like compound growth, exponents, or you know, math?

Starcom, when I started I realized I could pay 18% to credit cards in fees, or I could contribute to my 401k.
Make sure you cover the company match within the 401k, and roll it over to new company if you ever change jobs. Keep an eye on your credit score as somewhere over 680 (will vary) is needed to buy property without extra costs
CD1, I realized that too at a young age. I wish I had made better choices re: consumer debt. Hence my advice...doesn't need to be that way
10% 401K and get married
