Service line in both. EY has a bunch of tax service lines and each offer a different experience. Office will also play a factor.
GT definitely has lower utilization goals than big 4
Really depends on service line, level and group / region. Experiences can be very different.
Also depends on why you didn’t like DT. For example, is it the culture, specific policy, etc.? Then changing firms may work. Is it the amount of work? I doubt EY would be much different. Is it your specific local group you just don’t like? Then you would need to evaluate the people you met in the interviews.
I’ve explored switching firms earlier in my career and all the Big4 seemed pretty similar to me, with some culture differences and some are more dominant in different areas, but they really all follow each other.
Can’t speak to regional firms though.
