I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

Advice on taking and passing the SPHR exam?
Fishes, OK so this is true. Wipro is delaying the joining by half a month due to some restrictions or organisational changes & not ready to compensate for that half a month loss of salary. Very rude & absurd behaviour from them. Hence rejecting the offer as such company if u aren't sure when to ask for joining u may revoke the offer letter later on. Hence multiple options in hand is necessary nowadays. Infosys Tata Consultancy HCL Technologies
Unfortunately, Many are getting impacted by today's layoffs across the organisations and it is super hard to cope up mentally and financially. I came across few openings related to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) consultants, experience ranging 4-12 Yrs. Please reach out to Teja Chandrashekar (teja@vdigitise.com), Phone: 7672030466. Hope this can help some of you to get back onto the feet. Kindly like, comment or share for better reach. Thanks much!! #experience #share #help #consultants

Sometimes to move forward, you have to take few steps backward. These layoffs were result of over hiring remote employees during Covid and the growth in cloud space that came with Covid. This has to happen. Let things settle for couple of years and we should be in good shape.
You sound like someone who hasn’t had your life wrecked so a CEO won’t get a smaller paycheck.
IBM also layoffs 😂
I’m also feeling the same way. I’ve been working in the ecosystem since 2015 but I’m thinking of going back to consulting. It gets old the certifications & such but also it’s like repetitive & I don’t feel so hands on. Initially I loved it because it was new & shiny & now the truth is coming out. I too have a lot of mixed feelings.
What is it that concerned you? Did you expect they'd all stop sending employees to conferences?
Nah.
You cannot afford to be part of the sales conversations during the conference.
