I'm guessing that's a big fat no.
Yeah, per my understanding they get pay until January, severance (starting in January) and 401k match.
Yes that is correct severance starts January 3 for those laid off or fired. It does include 401k match and additional 4K for being their over a year. Just got laid off myself so... funny thing about it I was planning to start at another company on January 4. I was just staying in order to help my engagement teams get a head start for busy season. After being laid off yesterday, I'm chalking up deuces ✌️️ because the way they did it was just unruly.
My guess is no. Strategically timed like magic.
Still wondering then for those impacted today...
Well that's nice of them at least. Definitely don't have to offer that match. Severance is sort of expected even if it's only for a month or 2. Good luck to all looking for jobs.
Hi tax accountant. Aren't personal returns coming up ? Why would they let go of tax peeps ?
That would be such BS
That would be downright inhumane
It would be good to have someone from EY confirm
No. They just changed our policy to match either per paycheck or monthly (cant recall) but it doesnt go into effect until Jan 1.
How would it be a policy if it didnt apply across the board?
More than likely the match wouldn't occur since the terms are probably "employed as of this date"
True but severance isn't contractually obligated for staff and seniors either but they still offer it. Just trying to figure out how heartless EY is!
Thank you EY3 and TA1
TA1, how did they do it "unruly"? I thinks it's BS but want to know what soecificaly
