I'm a CFP that recently bought a tax firm and have considered getting CPA. Right now too busy to pursue, but there does not seem to be any training or CE overlap that I have seen in either direction.

The tax classes for CFP don’t count for CPA CE; income taxation, estate planning, nothing? I got a ton of industry CE along the way of getting my CFP done.

Leave your info, I'll contact any way you want.

Only a year in and had previously decided I wouldn’t pursue the CFP until my business was self sustaining in a few years. But figured if I can kill two birds with one stone by completing required CPE while also preparing for more letters behind my name, I like the sound of that..I already have 3 years of industry experience so that’s not a concern.

Thank you both. Unfortunate there appears to be no overlap 😔

Also - packerland. Would be interested in hearing how the CPA firm purchase is going and integrating into your financial practice. Let me know if you’d be willing to chat outside of FB

I would like to join an RIA team because I’m just over 5 years in and I would like to have some mentors to continue learning from, but if I can’t find the right fit then my plan is to launch my own. Where to start looking for an established RIA? I have not completed my CFP yet.
