For those of you who have gotten your SHRM, what helped you study/prepare the most? How did you decide on the CP versus SCP? I'm currently about to hit three years of experience and have a masters in I/O but my highest position has been a Coordinator II role. However, my goals are to eventually be in a management role, should I do the SCP?

I used the SHRM learning system and found a study group online as well. I'd recommend the SCP as its more for senior level professionals.

I have my SPHR and the difference between that and the PHR is the SPHR is geared more toward strategy and the PHR is geared more toward operational and transactional roles. If it’s similar with the CP and SCP, the CP may be better aligned to your career goals. But it also wouldn’t hurt to get the SCP.

When I went through the registration process, it recommended the SHRM-SCP because I had more than 5 years experience. In retrospect, it wasn't necessary. The SHRM-SCP focused a lot on international hiring, which is not applicable to my current role.

I have been working at a new company for about 3 months now. While I have tried to adjust to the new environment, I have struggled immensely as I have a largely unavailable boss and the company culture is much more hierarchical and stress inducing than I anticipated. If I left, would it be difficult to find a new role? Would the 3 month blip just be too glaring for recruiters? For context was at my last company for almost 4 years.
