For USAO AUSA offers, would you take: 1) offer in a medium-sized district in State 1 where you would be instantly starting in the specialized unit you want to work in (and doing only those types of crimes); or 2) offer from one of the largest and most “prestigious” districts in State 2 where you would be in general crimes starting out, with a possibility (who knows how likely) to get into the specialized unit of your choice in 1-2 years? Not sure how to weigh the two. TYIA!

I would take the smaller office with specialization then after a few years move to Main Justice to the component that truly specializes in those matters

like

Take what you want now unless there’s a strong person reason to be “prestigious”

Yeah the “prestige” factor isn’t really a factor for me that’s why I put it in quotes. More that, with that larger office, if you were able to get into the same specialized division there, you would be doing some of the highest-level work in those types of crimes in the country. Hard for me to be less vague without outing, just wondering what others would do or recommend in this situation. You’re probably right about option 1!

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. Half of the time you go to meet with him in person, he’s either on a call or otherwise busy. I find that this basically creates more work and makes meeting deadlines extremely difficult. Is this normal?

I just received a verbal offer as a program manager at vp level from a US BB in London. Unfortunately the number was a round down of my current pay. I’m currently a business manager in banking and thinking to move to the program manager role as a step towards more broader opportunities in the future (COO, consulting type of roles).
Should I accept the offer?
The HR told me that there will be opportunities for promotion in the next 12 to 24 months.
