I had interviewed with Deloitte UK consulting in June/July and was called by the HR team by the end of July that the interviews were positive and they're sending for approval for an offer to be rolled out. I was called back later in September and told that the role is on hold due to a hiring freeze. Is anyone else in this situation and have you'll heard back from the HR team post that

What is the average CTC offered for a Research Associate with 1 year of experience in Healthcare consulting?
I'm looking forward for opportunities, hence would be great to know the current CTC trends to effectively negotiate with the employer.

^ Yup local emails went out addressing all policies... most obvious like gift card reloads but also the controversial Thursday night dinner and Monday morning breakfast which is just BS. Someone from EY join the audit team? Lol
This is likely a situation where a project or practice was seeing higher than normal expenses, requested an audit, and they found things that practitioners couldn't explain. This happens all the time. You won't hear about people getting fired for this unless you are friends with someone in Talent.
The f? These firms are wilding but that sounds like cover up cuz tons I mean tons of ppl do that..
So when I land at 1 am and get back home at 2.30 am on Friday morning, I am expected to cook. Hmmmmmmmmm
@D5: That's a little late for dinner anyway... wouldn't you eat before your flight?
Maybe they want to cut down and this is an excuse
For it to be against policy, @OP, it would need to be stated in the policy.
OP- were these firings project specific?
Seems like a drastic measure. Have you confirmed it actually happened or just heresay
It definitely happened but I don't know the specifics. Just know it was because of Thursday night meals, Starbucks account loading (I.e. Putting money into the Starbucks app), and paying friends for rides to the airport. I've heard that the latter two were more serious, but the first one is still technically against policy.
Plus the firm do ask for justification or explanation before taking any action.. something fishy about this post
The Thursday dinner thing is a gray area - I would always grab something at the airport right before or after my flight. D has been overhiring like mad for the past few years and constantly looking for reasons to let go of people and expenses are an easy out. If you're worried about something you did in the past, you can reverse charges on old expense reports and pay it yourself
I’ve been told you can’t expense dinner after you land. That’s the extent of it. Also heard stories of people doing this unknowingly and got caught in an audit. Didn’t get fired just required to pay it back. These guys were definitely scheming the system
Also since when was Monday breakfast in question
I usually at least get a bottle of water at the airport. It's not like you can take that through security
Monday morning is really crazy! You need water, you need coffee to work on flight. To be honest many ppl in my project didn't even know it was against project
Fake news! Was at Deloitte for 4 years and expensed every Thursday's evening. Never an issue.
@SA1 - wow, 4 years! That's amazing - you must know everything there is to know about Deloitte, past, present and future!
*hearsay
I don't think the firing would have been for Thursday
@D14, I'm not sure how long. I think it's as long as a WBS code is active, so you can do it on your current project but not sure about prior ones
This isn't hearsay/fake news people it happened
