I'd like to get behind your cause, having been on the business end of bad administrators at various times in my career. That being said, I have worked with a number of very good administrators, helpful and genuinely desiring the best for kids. I am quite willing to be critical of administration when deserved, but I do think that each case should be examined individually.
I haven’t had a good administrator in my also 20 years in my current district. I’ve had good ones at other schools and during summer school so I know they exist. I know many admin get angry when I say this but - in my experience - most admin today are bad admin because they were bad teachers. I’m not sure if they are jealous or and angry at us because of that. They don’t get that if they support us, we’d run through a wall for them. Instead they don’t support us and then wonder why we don’t support them.
In my state, the number of administrators has increased, while abusive treatment of teachers by admin. has also increased. The number of teachers have decreased. Teachers don't grow on trees, but many admin. sure as h#*! act like it!
