I’d recommend going to FAANG, it’ll pay off in the long run
Rising Star
Do you value compensation or having a big FAANG name on your resume? I value the latter, so I took a slight pay decrease to jump ship to FAANG personally. Play the long game!
If you’re not getting an increase, I’d stay for now and look elsewhere for that increase
That is a good point, but I have been interviewing for a while and keep striking out. I think the next highest increase I can get is to 126k late winter 2022.
FAANG with 0 hesitation as it will open many doors for future exit ops.
I’d leave
Rising Star
Why is FAANG so low? Anyway would still take it, seems weird though.
The offer is definitely a lowball but I can’t get them to increase the compensation more. I’ve tried all the tricks in the book
Don’t you mean MAANG?
personal decision. dig deep
Within FAANG, how would you rank difficulty to get an offer?
Amazon is probably easiest and google is hardest. I’ve probably interviewed at FAANG 10-20 times within this past year
Go for FAANG, it will open up future opportunities
What role at FAANG?
An analyst role with a marketing focus with analytics (sql, tableau, etc)
How do you get 110k as a senior analyst and how do you approach negotiations at Accenture?
Good to know, Congratulations!! I got SA and that’s significantly more than my base. Hope you decide what’s best for you :)
How many YOE? And what role? Thanks
3 YOE, analyst role with a marketing focus that’s data heavy (sql, tableau, etc)
Go to FAANG for the opportunities it’ll open up
Previously worked in Faang, definitely doesn’t open up as many doors on the non-tech (non-SWE) side as folks here are suggesting - you’ll probably find that your coworkers on the business side are a dime a dozen and are not getting poached. So what I mean to say is exit opportunities shouldn’t be a factor, you’ll have the same exits as you would if you stayed, with more in marketing. The larger factor here then is the culture and type of work - you’ll work ~40 hours a week (unless it’s Amazon), everybody is super nice, and if you’re interested in Marketing it could be the right move.
