Got to the office and realized I forgot my adderall. Any tips for how to make it through the day? My focus is totally gone.

I realize this is not an answer to your question, but I have been in this position many times and highly recommend keeping an emergency stash in your office for days you forget!

Seconding. I use a “days of the week” pill container and have it in my work bag so I can’t forget it (or forget whether I’ve taken it)

No internet, no phone, no day dreaming.

Make a to do list of things you gotta get done today, and for each item open up the pertinent doc so it’s there in your face.

Also a good time to do admin stuff, like sending follow ups to people who need to provide you items you’ll need for your own deliverables. You can treat those like you’re cheating on your to do list.

When all else fails, lie to yourself to trigger “may as well while I’m here” mode.

like

Literally do the easiest task you can. E.g., I’m going to open this word doc. Then the next easiest, then the next easiest, they will build. If that doesn’t work, take a 10 min walk and try again

On days where I forget to take my meds I will try to drink coffee or an energy drink and get through the day as best as I can. It can be very challenging though I will say that. Best of luck to you OP, may the odds be ever in your favor.

Here is my dilemma: I was passed up for manager promo last year and rightfully so a lot of my feedback was definitely correlated to me not properly handing my symptoms causing a good bit of inconsistencies in my performance especially if I lacked interest. This year I’ve crushed it and switched up projects off of ones that I’ve long been on. The few people who “advocate” for me seem to be stuck on things that seem either 1) so unsubstantiated and show that they are too far detached from the …

Had my 1:1 with my People Lead yesterday to prepare for talent discussions. Said I had a great year - but need to work on being consistent. She said when I’m engaged it’s great but need to keep it going. I’ve mentioned my ADHD previously but I’m sure she doesn’t know all the components of what that means. We’ve had org issues - no clear role descriptions or expectations. Yes I do have a hard time staying engaged (and I’m medicated - Vyvance in the am, dextroamphetamine at noon). Thoughts?

Have a crush on my co-worker. Things to consider:
On a work visa

What would you recommend doing?
Keeping it to myself?
Speaking up? How? With who?

There’s been some posts on the best planning tools (e.g. planners, calendars, etc.), but my question is how do ppl make sure they use them? I get them and am excited about the possibility of them helping for about a week then I just stop using it. Even if I find it helpful I just never stay consistent with it. Does this happen to others? Any tricks or suggestions to stay consistent using planners, to do lists, calendars, etc.

One of my frustrations with myself (writing it out here so I can work on it) is that I will print out something that I need, such as a traffic collision report. I will read it without actually reading it. This results in spending time without actually retaining info. Does this happen to anyone else? I’ve found that I can actually focus when I truly force myself, but often this happens after I’ve discovered an error or an important piece of information that I should have noticed earlier.
