I would not have signed up to spend 17 days straight with her, for one thing. But just find stuff you’re interested in at the locations you’ll be visiting and go do that. You don’t have to spend every hour together. Then you can catch up on what you’ve both been up to when you are together.
That’s rough but it’s just temporary. I say this as someone who’s mother in-law does stuff like this. Look forward to the end. If you can carve out some time that’s just you and your partner, or you, during the trip then you’ll be set. Assuming you won’t drive, or have any issues that means you shouldn’t, have the drink. I know it’s not a “free” trip since you’re paying with your mental sanity, but try to make the best of it.
You’re an adult and as long as you’re not nasty and remain polite while keeping your boundaries, you can at least be OK knowing you’re not doing anything wrong. If anything, it’s probably rougher on your partner who wants to say no but has not come to terms with the fact that they have to put up boundaries.
I’m on this trip now and needed to hear all of this, thanks CW
