How to ask manager for onsite opportunity?
Has anyone interviewed with Amazon in the last 6 months. I finished my loop for a finance role. It’s been 8 business days and no update from the recruiter. I mailed the recruiter who said apologies for the delay but we will get back to you with next steps. Has anyone had this experience and what was the outcome Amazon

You could try it? As someone who was furloughed, has no income coming in, and has filed for benefits, the weekly form I submit asks if I worked during the week and whether I received any paid benefits, among other questions. If you fill the form out honestly, which you should, I think saying ‘yes’ to you working, and inputting your weekly EY salary would probably make you ineligible, but I don’t know how the partial unemployment benefit payments work for those with some earnings
To qualify for the $600, you have to be getting state unemployment. If you are denied by the state, that's it.
Unemployment is for the unemployed. You’re still fully employed and there’s at least 8 million actually unemployed who can’t get benefits bc the systems are so overwhelmed. Why do you need assistance?
I would also like to remind people that the $600 may come from the feds, but the actual state unemployment comes from a state budget that needs to be balanced and the first thing most states do to balance the decreased revenue and increased unemployment strain, will be to reduce the salaries of state employee. As a state worker, if you don’t need the money please don’t ask for it, because I don’t want my salary that I do need to be cut.

Let people who are actually unemployed use this benefit..it’s morally wrong for you to have this money even if you somehow make it work
Who are you to say what’s morally right or wrong?
Seems unethical and extremely unlikely

You can’t have a side hustle while at EY. You need to report it in Independence!
What type of side hustles do y’all have? I’m trying to understand what they typically approve.

FYI - the CARES act changed unemployment insurance to include gig workers and any loss of income as a result of COVID 19, even if it is only a partial loss, like reduced hours. This allows it to be applicable to more people than typically. I was hoping to see if someone had already done so and what results they saw.
For those judging, you don’t know how others live, where they live, their finances, who they support. We all have different circumstances. You only know yours.

Do you who cares about what these ppl have to say, so many are judgmental
Answer to OP is no, that would be classified as fraud.
Ok, can you try it? Sure. If you get caught, you’d be looking at jail time and given the circumstances, probably 100% you’d be convicted.

Thank you for your advice, but it seems like I am eligible for the PUA. I just filed with my state and it gave me an estimated weekly payment. It asked for my employers’ information. I checked all the boxes applicable. I indicated that I have a primary job at EY which has allowed me to telework with same hours and same pay, my gig work has been impacted by COVID 19, my gig work is not my primary source of income, all the benefits I am still receiving (sick days, vacations days, and health benefits). I uploaded all the necessary documents, 2019 W-2, 2019 tax return, and 2019 1099s, 2020 paystubs from EY, and bank statements to prove income in January 2020 from my gig work.
PwC 2 - I’m an administrative assistant.
Doubt it. It’s not about loss of income, it’s about “are you working RN yes/no”
Wife is self employed, has no income for the past three months.... she is applying for it.
I used to side hustle wedding gigs in weekends making about 20% of total income, I lost all of that, but I personally find iffy for me to think that I am in the same position of a person (like my wife) that lost her bread and butter.
You do you, you only know your financial realities.
I for one, opted to understand that side gig is side gig, and should never be used to maintain my living expenses, but my saving goals/vacations/and investments. My future goals and vacations are put on hold, but I shouldn't ask for unemployment because I decreased my contributions to my 401k or have to pay the house expenses on my own.
It seems that you made your mind, go and apply. I would encourage you to consider looking at your expenses and developing a plan so all your necessities and expenses are covered fully by your EY salary, let everything else be icing.

Best of luck to your wife! I know this can also take an emotional toll.
Why do I feel like OP is lying about having foster siblings that he has to support....
I don't think you can claim your sister as a dependent. Circumstances have to align perfectly. I am suspect 🤔
Lol. Try and see what happens. The worse they can say is no. It does take like 4 weeks to be approved.
