Yes and always use a lawyer. They help with more than just the money and benefits. They help make sure the other details help you, like rules around where you can and cannot work post. And they are in a less emotional place to help you determine your worth.
Thanks, I’ll chat with him today. I found Steven Sack on here, is it standard for 1/3 of whatever increase he gets added vs. an hourly rate?
Went through it with my ex. She got 1 month and negotiated it to 6 months plus a bunch of other provisions she get were necessary (like mutually binding non-disparagement clauses). There were potential gender discrimination issues which is why it made sense in her case
Not me but a former colleague. The severance package included non compete language for a crazy amount of time. Lawyer helped them reduce it and got them more $ too.
while we are at it, any lawyer recos? I’m not in touch with that person but hearing the story gave me chills & id love a name for back pocket.
Agree, use a lawyer!!
